The Livermore Alive Ministry Philosophy
At Livermore Alive we believe that the church is not a place or the sum of it's programs, the church is a family of people. As such our identity as a church is more about the kind of people we are than the things we do.
We long to be people who live life caught up in a genuine relationship with our Creator. Understanding that cultivating a relationship with God doesn't happen by accident we have made a commitment to practice "The Life-Giving Lifestyle" as a way of life all our life. As we develop habits around the four basic practices of this lifestyle we are discovering the life Jesus was talking about in John 10:10 when He said, "I have come that they might have life and have it to the full."
But this life is too good to keep to ourselves and that is why we are learning to give it away. To that end we have made a commitment to Total Community Immersion; investing our hearts, time and energy out in the community building relationships that are life-giving with people who don't know Jesus so that in the context of those relationships we create natural opportunities to pass the life we are experiencing in Him on to people we love. Rather than waiting for people to "Come and See" what life in Jesus is all about we are convinced that we have been called to "Go and Be" the church wherever we are.
In order to accomplish the task of becoming a "Go and Be" church without walls, we are committed to building a Simple Ministry. We don't want to tie up all our time in church events incestuously ministering to each other, so we've made the strategic decision to limit the number of Livermore Alive sponsored programs to a select few. We will focus our heart and attention on developing these programs with excellence so that they become sharp tools in supporting the on going relational ministry we are investing in among people in our community.
The public face of our ministry is our worship service. On Sunday mornings we gather together to celebrate all that God as done and soak in the Life-Giving Truth of His Word taking us deeper into an experience of the full life Jesus has to offer and inspiring us to continue to passionately invest our hearts in taking that life to the world.
