My actions speak louder than my words (Part 26)

Two realities:

#1: It's impossible to know what's in someone's heart. (vs.18-30)

  • Jesus knows who he has chosen. He makes no mistakes. Only Jesus knows what's in our hearts.
  • Nothing that happens is a mistake. He has everything in control.
  • People are more complicated than we see.
  • Pray for those we live with and see and pray that we love them the way Jesus does.

#2: It's possible to be deceived about what's in my own heart. (vs.31-38)

  • Peter thought he was ready. But he was still on his own timing, not God's timing.
  • When push comes to shove: whose kingdom are you living for? whose timing are you on? are you ready to wash feet?
  • Am I willing to surrender whatever it takes to bring people to Christ?
  • Really?

A New Commandment: Love one another as Jesus loves us.

  • What is it that distinguishes us from the rest?

Life Giving Truth: My actions speak louder than my words.
