Everyone matters to God (Part 3)

Passage: 1 Timothy 2:1-7

  1. Paul urges prayer for everyone (v. 1-2)

    1. Above all else...Pray
    2. Just prayign doesn't really do it
      1. Lift up everyone
      2. Everyone matters
    3. Requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone
    4. No more selective prayers
    5. When you pray for people, you can't help but care for them

  2. God wants salvation for everyone (v. 3-4)

    1. Genesis 12 - From the beginning with Abraham, all would be blessed
    2. John 3:16 - He sacrificed His son for us
    3. Matthew 28:28-20 - make disciples of all nations
    4. Acts 1:8 - you will be my wittnesses...to the ends of the earth
    5. Revelations - The Kingdom of God is made up of peopl from every tribe
    6. God wants all men saved, but the Bible say snot all will be saved
      1. We are free thinkers, have the choice
      2. Our choices mean something
    7. He loves us and wants us to have everlasting life

  3. Jesus paid a ransom for everyone (v. 5-6)

    1. There is one God
    2. One mediator between God and us - Jesus
    3. God would do anything for us

  4. We have Good News for everyone (v. 7)

    1. His gospel is for everyone
    2. There are no hoops to jump through
    3. Share a story that shows how Jesus changed our lives
    4. Every person you see matters to God
